#118/365--Bundtlettes by Janelle
Made my own little version of bundtlettes and homemade glaze. Yum. Not sure if you can tell from the picture but they are so so cute! (And when you say cute...you have to pronounce it key-you-t!)

#116/365--Brother-Sister time
As I yell at my kids to go brush their teeth and get ready for bed, I look down the hall and only see Lauren's light on and hear the two kids talking. I hollar one more time and get the response, "Ok mom, in a minute! We're having 'Brother-Sister Time' " Wondering to myself, "ok...this is unusual...what is this 'Brother-Sister time'" I walk down the hall and see this:
They were making bracelets together. No arguing...simply sharing--materials, ideas, conversation...Brother-Sister Time.

#114/365--Saturday School
After a late night at the Ranger game, I thought I'd let the kids sleep in past their normal "wake-up" time for this particular school day. I mean, it's not every Saturday that you have to get up early and go to school. I surprised the kids with breakfast at McDonald's before school. See my focus point right in the MIDDLE of the picture. :)
After school, we came home and had a quick lunch, then headed to the dog park. Today was just beautiful. Nice breeze, warm, sunny...perfect day to be outside.
Later, we celebrated Makenzie's birthday! The big "13!"

#113/365--Field Trip
What a day! Every year, our Kindergarten takes a field trip to Pennington Field--it's where the local high schools play football and soccer. The kids get to go out onto the football field and run the field. Then we go upstairs in the pressbox and from up there you can see downtown Fort Worth, Cowboys Stadium, and downtown Dallas in a panoramic view.
Also inside the stadium, there is a gymnastics gym. They set up an "obstacle course for us and the kids walk balance beams, balance on these huge wedges and other things, slide down into a huge foam pit, crawl through a set of "doughnuts," and jump down an enormous trampoline. It's a blast!
When we're done with that, we walk over to a nearby park for a picnic lunch and "recess" time on the equipment.
Tomorrow, we have Saturday School to make up for one of our Snow Days. And it's gonna be field day. Mental note: Kindergarten Program, field trip, and field day all in one week...very exhausting!

#106/365--Made up
Our friend, Liz, had a Pampering Party at her house, complete with all sorts of hors d'oeuvres and drinks, as well as her sister, a Mary Kay consultant. We tried lots of products and made a long wish list of really expensive items that we'd like to buy if only we had the money! And aren't we a group of gorgeous women? :)

#105/365--Refill
This is my "Clean-clothes basket." I put my clean--out of the dryer--clothes in here. Usually, it is spilling over with clothes. We tend to pull clothes out of the pile, iron them and put them on our bodies. The fact that it is empty means that I exerted a little extra energy this afternoon to fold, hang, and put clothes away...
...guess it's time to fill it up again...

#104/365--New Arm Workout
I can't explain it. If I plan on cleaning, I end up feeling tired, disgusted, lifeless, unwilling...and I don't clean. But oddly enough, sometimes I just...clean. And when it happens naturally, I sort of like it. When cleaning is planned, I feel stressed, on a timeline, overwhelmed. Impulsive cleaning feels rather relaxed and organized. Unfortunately, there's not enough time or energy in my life to impulsively clean on a daily basis, so it happens very randomly. This is why there is inch-thick dust on my dresser and nightstands.
So I thoroughly cleaned my bathroom tonight--when I say thoroughly, I mean completely. Down to the drain on my tub. Yep. You guessed it...another lego sacrificed in battle...but I won't go there.
Instead of doing my usual workout tonight, I figured all my cleaning would burn calories...so, I ran to Target to pick up a few cleaning items that I needed. See, I'm the type of Impulse cleaner that doesn't realize she needs cleaning items until she begins her random impulse cleaning. While there, I decided I needed to get a new liner and shower curtain to spruce up my bathroom. (Well, this wasn't random, I'd been thinking about this for some time and it just so happened that there was a curtain that perfectly matched my current bathmat, and I just HAD to get it, right?!)
I'm standing on the tub, putting the new curtain up and I realize that this is a real workout. For the life of me, I cannot get the rings closed. I'm standing there, sweating, pushing my arms together with all my might, and I begin to feel the burn in my triceps. At first I'm getting a little irritated. You can hear me, right? "Are you KIDDING ME?" "REALLY?!" "SERIOUSLY?!" "Who made these things?" And then I start to think to myself..."hey...wait a second...THIS is a workout!!"

#100/365--Main Street Art
We went to downtown Fort Worth for the Main Street Arts Festival to check out some of the art. I always love just walking around--I feel inspired, even though I'm no artist. Something inside of me just loves the idea of creating and creation. We saw some pretty interesting stuff. Some weird, some way out there, some beautiful. I even purchased a couple of prints and a piece of jewelry. While we were out there I snapped a few pics of my own...my attempt at using my photographic eye.

#99/365--Leapin' Lizards
At dismissal today, I looked over and saw kids throwing things at the side of the school. I walked over there to see what was going on and to lay some law. This is a picture of the lizard (poor thing) that they were throwing things at. Of course I defended the poor creature and sent the kids on their merry way and then had my friend, and co-teacher, Christian take a picture for me since I didn't have my camera with me. I think it's the biggest lizard I've ever seen in person, outside of a zoo!! It was pretty cool.

#91/365--Just Sandy
I love my puppy dog! She's really about the sweetest dog in the whole wide world. Who else would hold her bladder for 13 hours, greet you at the door as if you were her bestest friend, and wait patiently while you make your facebook post until you have a moment to "greet" her?! Even though she's really a Nervous Nelly, Sandy really is the bestest friend a girl could ever have! Sandy's never met a stranger, but if you dared to look at her family wrong, she'd take you down. She is our announcer--letting us know when someone new has arrived. She's an avid outdoorsdog. When we are home, she goes outside every 15 minutes...just to test the wind to make sure there is no impending danger. When our neighbors are coming and going, Sandy has to bark a warning, just in case there is someone there, waiting to cause harm. I love my girl! She's just precious.
