#14/365--Want To

Why can't I feel like this about working out? Do people really feel like this about working out? Will I feel like this if I start doing this workout video? My friend, Allie, let me borrow some of her workout videos because I really want to start working out...I have to have the "want to" to want to first. It would help if I didn't do this during teacher trainings...

  1. You don't have to WANT to work out -- most people never truly do think, "wow, I can't wait to work out...I love it!" You just have to do it or you'll be sitting around forever waiting for it to "feel like the right time." Do it, make it routine, see the benefits of it, and you'll more and more grow to getting some enjoyment out of it (or at least enjoyment in the results of weight management, way more energy, and just overall feeling healthier). If it helps, go to classes at the gym where you are accountable for giving it your all for 30 minutes to an hour. That really helped me back in my days at TTU.

My dietician was anti-gym. She was all about finding things you like to do. Try playing tennis (make my brother play!), taking long walks with the kids, go to Zumba classes, swim at the rec center, play basketball or go bike riding with the kids...anything! Find something you actually LIKE to do and make it a part of your week!

  5. I have to admit...I used to LOVE doing aerobics. I really for real tried to do one of the dvds last night. I couldn't ((and still can't)) find the remote for my dvd player. It's the kind of player that requires a remote to get past the menu. grr. I decided maybe God doesn't want me to workout...?
